The Career Pathways Intern will assist in assessing client eligibility and readiness for the program, creating personalized career development plans, and scheduling related activities. Key responsibilities include supporting resume and job application preparation, providing guidance on job search strategies and interview skills, and facilitating group coaching sessions. The intern will also engage in outreach to recruit participants, support clients throughout their job search, and handle documentation and reporting. Collaboration with the Career Pathways Specialists and team members is essential for effective program delivery and client support.Update
Minimum Qualifications:

Major Responsibilities:

* Assist in conducting pre-enrollment assessments to help build careerdevelopment plans with actionable and realistic goals.

* Support clients in preparing resumes, searching for job opportunities,and practicing interview skills.

* Provide individual mentorship under supervision for resume writing, interview preparation, job search techniques, and other career advancement skills.

* Help facilitate group coaching sessions focused on advanced work readiness and employability skills.

* Aid in networking efforts and assist with job application reviews.

* Accompany clients to job preparation activities, interviews, and job site tours, and provide support to help them attend these events independently in the future.

* Collaborate with team members and departments to support IRC clients through effective communication.

Community Outreach/Engagement

* Participate in outreach efforts to identify and engage clients eligible for career development programs.

* Provide support to clients with post-placement issues and ongoing career development needs.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

* Understand career development theories and create effective careerplans forclients.

* Learn to assess client readiness and identify barriers to employment.

* Develop skills in individual and group coaching, including interview preparation.

* Assist with scheduling and managing career development activities.

* Build skills in networking and outreach to connect clients with resources.

* Enhance communication and teamwork abilities through client and team interactions.

* Understand and provide culturally sensitive support to refugees and immigrants.

* Develop transferable skills for future roles in career counseling and related fields.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Knowledge of workplace safety practices and a willingness to learn industry-specific practices.

* Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

* Proficiency in MS Office applications and basic database management.

* Creative and strategic thinking to overcome barriers.

* Fluency in a second language preferred (e.g., Spanish, Dari/Pashto).

Working Environment:

* The role involves a combination of standard office environment, remote work, and field time within the service delivery area.
