Jefferson County Children, Youth, and Services is looking for a Fiscal Assistant to perform moderately complex fiscal functions. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Assistant, you will be providing support to the fiscal department, caseworkers, and administration. You will have the opportunity to work independently as well as part of a team to complete complex fiscal work including accounts payable and receivable as well as compile data and maintain fiscal files. Effective communication is essential in this position as you will be working closely with vendors and service providers to ensure accurate and timely submission of reports. Organizational skills are required in order to meet federal and state deadlines for reporting.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
  • An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by 6 credits in accounting; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
