Position Overview

NOTE: This position is externally funded by a federal grant. Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Activity Director is responsible for monitoring and guiding/leading the day-to-day implementation of the major components of the ACCESS grant, Title V, and the Department of Education Hispanic Serving Institution grant. This includes but not limited to establishment of a Teaching & Learning Center, professional development, student outreach and mental health efforts, peer mentoring, case management advising, surveys, and assessment. This position supervises grant staff. This position reports on data and progress to the Grant Director.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct day-to-day implementation of major project objectives.
  • Supervise the grant team to accomplish grant objectives and activities aligned with the campus Mission and Values.
  • Lead, monitor, and coordinate the development and implementation of the ACCESS grant, working with all ENMU-departments, and grant partners.
  • Oversee related activities that promote retention, persistence, graduation and transfer.
  • Coordinate efforts to establish the Teaching & Learning Center, Peer Mentoring, ACES Ambassador program, Professional Development and all other activities to meet the goals and objectives of the grant.
  • Liaise with other campus grant administrators to coordinate and supplement, but not supplant, similar services to students.
  • Build a culture of evidence by providing assessments and data on all grant activities to the Grant Director in order to ensure outcomes are being met.
  • Data collection, assessment, and collaboration with ENMUR Institutional Effectiveness office.
  • Promote a customer service focused environment that is responsive to student needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in an educational setting.
  • Three years' experience working in higher education or public education.
  • Two years supervisory experience.
  • Experienced in the uses of technology and software for report writing, data collection, and presentations.
  • Strong writing, speaking, presenting, and interpersonal skills in person and online.



Working Conditions

Work is performed during normal work hours, with some evenings and weekends to meet deadlines.
Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
