Fitter Welder Shift: 1st Shift \| 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Pay: $21-$25 per hour (Based on Experience) Location: Cudahy The Fitter Welder is responsible for welding, fitting, fabricating, and installing metal components according to work orders and engineered drawings. This role requires the ability to interpret blueprints, assemble metal structures, perform high-quality welds, and ensure all finished products meet strict production and quality standards. Duties and Responsibilities Read and interpret work orders, manufacturing standards, engineered drawings, and blueprints. Determine required materials and plan tasks based on production specifications. Assemble, fit, and tack weld metal sections to form complete units or subunits. Perform all welding tasks and related fabrication and finishing processes. Set up and operate heavy-duty metalworking equipment, including torches, drills, die grinders, hammers, levels, plasma cutters, overhead cranes, and forklifts. Rig, hoist, and move materials within the worksite safely and efficiently. Conduct in-process inspections and testing to ensure parts meet production specifications and quality standards. Inspect work thoroughly before proceeding to the next production step. Detect and report defective materials to the Supervisor; make necessary adjustments and repairs to meet precise specifications. Perform repair work on units as required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Complete special projects as assigned. Assist in other areas of operations based on business or customer needs. Work overtime as required. Qualifications & Education Requirements 1-2 years of fitting experience preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing environments and ability to provide certain trade tools. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, blueprints, and technical documents. Experience working in a quality-driven production environment. Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet production deadlines. Ability to multi-task and solve problems effectively. Team-oriented with strong listening skills and a willingness to learn. Reliable, dependable, and maintains a positive attitude.
