Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Sr. Admissions Representative

Role Overview:

    Provide support to Bedboard Coordinators, addressing requests for admissions, alerts, external transfers, and appropriate bed assignments using the electronic bed board. Supervise patient flow and bed status to contribute to the efficiency of all admissions
  • Perform audits and analysis of various workflows and activities, identify areas of improvement, and work with supervisor to address them.
  • Participate in the delivery of training for new employees and partner with supervisors to assist in the development of existing employees
  • Collect deposits for private rooms and payments as it relates to patient financial services
  • Assist clinicians with completing death certificates through eVital as well as provide administrative guidance for autopsy and Medical Examiner case workflows.
  • Print appropriate lists to determine accurate admission times according to OR scheduling guidelines and call patients to advise the time of admission
  • Thoroughly explain inpatient admission documents and procedures to acquire the required signatures
  • Assign times for our direct admission patients as well as assist in contacting all patients with their arrival times and Admitting instructions

Key Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of proven experience in a healthcare setting, familiarity with medical terminology, and digital literacy
  • Prior experience/knowledge in Bed Board/inpatient setting preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail, good written, and verbal communication skills
  • Courtesy and understanding needed to meet the needs of our patient population

  • An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding
  • Adept at creating partnerships and working to meet shared objectives and goals
  • Willing to take action and eager to accept new opportunities and tough challenges with high energy, and passion

Additional Information:

  • Location: 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY
  • Schedule: Week 1: Mon, Tues, Fri & Sat (7am-7pm) - Week 2: Sun, Wed & Thurs (7am-7pm)
  • Reporting To: To: Supervisor, Patient Financial Services
  • Pay Range: $23.03-$34.67
