POSITION SUMMARY:

The Process Engineering Tech will be primarily involved with developing, standardizing, and documenting of manufacturing processes and procedures.This will include the maintenance of design documents on the production floor released by Design Engineering. Process development may include anything from processes for new designs to improving existing processes within the plant, to owning new equipment processes. A successful candidate must be able to utilize their skills and creativity on a wide range of projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • 20% Create/Define/Update manufacturing processes
  • 20% Develop/Update Manufacturing Work Instructions
  • 10% Collaborate with tooling to create new fixturing
  • 10% Update/Maintain physical production CAD Prints
  • 10% Review prototype trailers for manufacturability
  • 5% Submit ECN's for changes to BOM due to process changes
  • 5% Audits Manufacturing Processes
  • 5% Support Manual & Robotic Welding Initiatives
  • 5% Ensure new components work properly for design and manufacturing
  • 5% Research New Equipment/Tools to improve current manufacturing processes
  • 5% Develop CAD - Computer Aided Design
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Understanding of steel manufacturing and production assembly processes
  • Lean / Continuous Improvement Knowledge (preferred)
  • 3D modeling / 2D CAD drafting (preferred)
  • Strong Microsoft Office software skills (Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Basic trailer knowledge (preferred)
  • Tooling/Fixturing knowledge
  • Ability to work with a cross functional team
  • Robot Welding Knowledge (preferred)
  • Sharp production focus with a drive for accurate and timely results.
  • Ability to manipulate tools and assembly components involving fine and gross motor skills sufficient to demonstrate the job
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip and climb.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical, negotiation, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Must be able to be self-directed
  • Ability to work in a team environment
