What you'll be doing...

As the Associate Director, Project Management & Operations for the VCG Customer Communications Team, you'll lead the group that oversees delivery of our outbound Marketing Campaigns and Transactional Campaigns. In this role, you'll partner with our Communications leadership team to prioritize and manage a significant portfolio of work, and you'll ensure that more than 10 billion annual communications are delivered on time, to specification and with the excellence our customers deserve.

It's in your nature to plan for the future and work within a process, but also to expect the unexpected, manage change and chaos with calm but firm resolve, bring your team and partners along with you, and live on the edge between principal and practical. You are the air traffic controller directing the planes, keeping things on time, people safe, and the business moving.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing oversight and accountability for quality, on-time delivery, of all campaigns and projects within the portfolio.

  • Leading the inter and intra-team process and workflow management, both in terms of ongoing execution and optimization.

  • Participating in the portfolio/intake process to maximize alignment on priorities, scope, and deadlines.

  • Leading efforts involving change management (scope adjustment, date adjustment, reprioritization, etc.).

  • Coordinating cross-team resourcing activities.

  • Providing career development and guidance and administrative support for direct reports.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Experience and extensive knowledge of Marketing Operations and Program/Project Management at an enterprise scale.

  • Experience managing external partners and agencies.

  • Experience and knowledge of project management tools (e.g. JIRA).

  • Experience working with Workfront and Smartsheets.

  • Ability to manage complex projects and operate under tight timeframes.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • PMP certification or related certifications.

  • Knowledge of digital Marketing, Creative, and Content Development fundamentals.

  • Experience with commercial marketing software and/or tools.

  • Collaborating skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.

  • Problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work well within a team environment and under pressure of very stringent deadlines.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every "even better" qualification listed above.

    Where you'll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager. Scheduled Weekly Hours40 Equal Employment Opportunity
