The team you will be a part of

Our Radio Development R&D Team is looking for motivated junior hardware power amplifier engineers to be a part of a team involved in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of 5G/6G cellular base stations.

We are seeking engineers with up-to-date knowledge in cutting-edge technologies, including Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML), Virtual Design and simulations, Automation, Data Analytics, RF/Microwave modeling, Gallium Nitride (GaN) and Lateral-Diffused Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (LDMOS) Power amplifiers (PA), sustainable energy savings, and Cloud Computing, which enable faster time to market and ultimate product quality, the best in the industry.

What you will learn and contribute to

Design and develop RF/microwave circuits and power amplifiers from concept to final production:

  • RF component definition and specification
  • Implementation of different RF amplifier classes and architectures, matching networks, and other design techniques.
  • Test and troubleshoot of RF components and amplifiers, ensuring compliance with specifications.
    Perform simulations and analysis using simulation tools such as ADS, ANSYS, Microwave Office, and HFSS.
  • Interact and collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, software and mechanical engineers, and manufacturing operations for successful integration of power amplifiers on final RF radios.

Required skills:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Excellent theoretical and practical understanding of RF/microwave design with focus on power amplifier design: knowledge of amplifier classes, matching networks, power amplifier architectures, and design techniques.
  • Knowledge/Experience with CAD tools like Mentor Xpedition or ADS layout.
  • Knowledge/Experience with RF/Microwave simulation tools - ADS, ANSYS, HFSS, and Microwave office.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite - primarily Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Previous Nokia co-op experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good time management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Good mechanical aptitude with experience using power and hand tools found in a machine shop
  • Adept Problem Solver
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Able to travel internationally
