Job Objective:
This office-based role is responsible for providing technical guidance to Hilcorp Alaska Asset Teams during planned and unplanned maintenance activities on gas turbines, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment. Additionally, this role provides rotating equipment troubleshooting and identifies and implements innovative opportunities across all Hilcorp North Slope Assets.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate efficient reliability centered maintenance and optimization of rotating equipment.
  • Project management assistance to facilities for rotating equipment and turnaround projects.
  • Operational and economic project evaluation needed to support production growth and facility expansion.
  • Acts as focal point for field employees and Engineering to troubleshoot and maintain site rotating equipment.
  • Identifies long term needs (maintenance and optimization) and provide input on budgetary requirements.
  • Manages on and off-site contractor support within area of responsibility.
  • Has direct impact on turnaround, maintenance, and spare inventory scope and budget.
  • Ensure strong alignment and support with field-based teams, especially the Prudhoe Bay Overhaul team. Strive to be the trusted source for rotating equipment engineering expertise.
  • Supports and guides the site field maintenance and operations team in all matters pertaining to rotating equipment
    • Set the example to take info from real life observations & eagerness to spend time on the shop floor and turbine skids.
    • Build passion for world class maintenance and reliability.
    • Customer support focus - meeting the needs of the facilities the team serves.
  • Supports EAM (PM tracking program) process. Assists with the Preventative Maintenance Program and helps ensure proper PM's are captured in the system with appropriate documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Maintains major component spare part inventory plan and ensures major component inventory is monitored and evaluated on a set frequency.
  • Manages QA/QC processes and documentation to ensure quality of major components.
  • Develops and maintains maintenance Policies, Procedures, Practices and Guidelines within area of responsibility.
  • Identifies and assesses all new technology systems and leads the adoption, identification, or creation of engineering standards for rotating equipment.
  • Assess state-of-the-art techniques for condition based/predictive maintenance for different types of rotating equipment and develop these into plans that can be deployed across the assets.
  • Leads efforts to develop expertise in operational reliability systems and management (Root Cause Analysis and implementing lessons learned).
  • Participates in Asset Team, Facilities Engineering, and Field meetings as required.
  • Liaises with vendor representatives to negotiate pricing and contract terms.
  • Approximately 25% travel annually to the field to support equipment troubleshooting, meetings with field personnel, project support, and/or equipment overhaul support.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort/goals by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years experience preferred in an oil production facility, industrial oil refinery, chemicals plant, or similar facility, inclusive of turbines, pumps, compressors, fans, and blowers.
  • Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance, root cause investigations, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Experience in contract and project management.
  • Knowledge of vibration analysis techniques and principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to accurately solve problems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Hilcorp personnel and contractors.
  • Ability to work established work schedule.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Ability to consider safety in all decisions.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.

Education Requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred. BS in other engineering disciplines or equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability, and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position will be considered.
