The Behavior Specialist is responsible for providing direct behavioral support to adults with autism in both their homes and community environments. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Conducting individualized behavioral observations and assessments. * Developing strategies based on these assessments. * Crafting personalized Behavior Support Plans. * Providing training and mentorship to the support team as needed, under the clinical supervision of a professional with a master's degree in human services or a related field. * Receiving operational supervision from the IDD Director. The Behavior Specialist ensures the effective development, facilitation, and documentation of Behavior Support Plans in alignment with the individual's Individual Support Plan (ISP). Merakey welcomes all Veterans to apply! * Master's degree in education, Psychology, Social Work, or Special Education or a related field AND a minimum of two years of experience with developing and implementing Behavior Support Plans * Experience working with adults with IDD and with mental health diagnosis or autism spectrum disorder preferred. * Demonstrated ability to support individuals with behavioral challenges required. Competency in writing supports plans, conducting assessments and effective verbal communication skills required. Capacity to train and mentor others needed.
