SAN JOSE CA - OPERATIONS MANAGER PAY RATE: $25.00 ABOUT THE ARC The Salvation Army (TSA) Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a no-fee program to assist men & women in their journey to complete our rehabilitation program. POSITION OBJECTIVES: - Ensure that the Work Therapy Unit (WTU) operates at peak efficiency by monitoring and managing established key performance indicators (KPI) and standard operating procedures. (SOP) - Develop an effective logistics and production plan to meet retail requirements and timely delivery of goods and services. - Direct and oversee personnel including hiring, training, and performance management. - Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with regulations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - One or more years of paid experience in a warehouse role managing hourly employees. - Has verifiable experience supervising program participants (preferred), experience supervising volunteers, interns, and/or other large groups of individuals will also be considered. - Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies, including logistics, equipment, safety and purchasing (Preferred) - Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of organization staff and deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal - Current valid driver's license, able to pass MVR report (Required) - Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry - Has experience driving a box truck (preferred); or ability to be certified as forklift operator. - Ability to recognize and maintain confidential information as appropriate. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Ability to grasp, push, pull objects. - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. - Due to the facility's nature, incumbent must be able to occasionally work outdoors and feel comfortable walking on potentially uneven surfaces. Delegate work assignments; Match responsibilities to the right people; Set clear expectations and monitor delegated activities. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: 2. Coach and support all Beneficiaries during work therapy. Influence/instill good behaviors via issuance of positive or negative corrective reports. 3. Comply with all program requirements including submission of all required WTA evaluations. 4. Partner with HR in the hiring process and completion of training requirements. 5. Supervise daily activities, including quality assurance, pricing strategies, inventory control, space management, logistics, completion of required reports, shipping and receiving processes. 6. Monitor and meet daily store allocations through coaching, managing the flow of work and developing actionable production plans. 7. Regularly inspect equipment, tools, and general maintenance of equipment. 8. Oversee and manage logistics, timely shipment deliveries of processed goods and donation pick-up.. 9. Review and prepare work schedules and staffing requirements with action plans that meet department standards for productivity and quality. 10. Monitor and manage budgeted expenses and income. 11. Maintain all DOT and driver files to align with state and federal law" 12. Schedule and conduct required meetings for Drivers, Beneficiaries, and employees. 13. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with internal, local, and state regulations. 14. Train Donation Attendants with emphasis on customer service, safety, and efficiency. 15. Follow and comply with standard operating procedures in purchasing supplies, conducting auctions and processing commodities. 16. Perform added duties as assigned. Behaviors
