Job Overview:

The Regional Director, Stores (RDOS) is a visionary leader responsible for driving business priorities and establishing Bloomingdale's as the local leader in their region. By articulating a localized perspective to merchants and the Director of Stores, the RDOS dreams big, delivering bold and innovative strategies that adapt to changing market dynamics and the unique nuances of each location, thereby enhancing the Bloomingdale's portfolio.

With a profound understanding of the competitive landscape, the RDOS acts decisively, makes things happen, and leverages ground intelligence to maintain Bloomingdale's competitive edge. As a collaborative leader, the RDOS unifies their team, placing the customer first, always, to build and sustain long-term, high-value relationships.

Essential Functions:


  • Deliver performance metrics to plan in region: EBIT, Sales, Net Promoter Score, Loyallist, HUR, Client Sales, Staffing and Fulfillment


  • Serves as the chief talent manager and is the owner of talent in their region


  • Set clear expectations for leadership behavior and accountability for results; empower others to make decisions


  • Lead by example as an active coach, providing ongoing feedback and guidance, bringing succession plans to life by accelerating and developing top talent


  • Actively present in the region to understand and share ground intelligence regarding the competitive landscape


  • Ensure Operating Principles are fully embraced by the region with the appropriate communication and culture.


  • Serve as the ultimate role model of customer first, always. Consistently demonstrate the urgency of servicing the customer in a professional and knowledgeable manner.


  • Capitalize on key business opportunities (trends, vendors, classifications, events) with senior team and regional partners


  • Execute central strategies with appropriate localization for the customer


  • Develop collaborative and results-producing relationships with central business partners


  • Effectively communicate priorities and business-driving information to ensure leadership is aligned and equipped to maximize opportunities


  • Cultivate a customer centric store and regional culture; be a vocal advocate for needed improvements to support the in-store customer experience


  • Exhibits an appreciation for merchandising and product, ensuring merchandise presentation, visual campaigns, and store environment reflect Bloomingdale's standards


  • Require and champion use of selling technology to support a seamless customer experience; ensure the team optimizes the use of tool and processes


  • Drive store associate engagement by building teams committed to a diverse and inclusive environment, supporting a culture of learning and development, and providing consistent and feedback that drives employee engagement and retention


Qualifications and Competencies:

Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university

5+ years direct experience


Physical Requirements:


  • Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department


  • May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping and color vision


  • Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions


  • Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs
