Our range of health services include home care, hospice and palliative care for adults and children, rehabilitation and nursing care at Menorah and Isabella Centers, and the research based MJHS Institute for Innovation and Palliative Care. We also offer Elderplan/HomeFirst: health plans for Medicare and dual-eligible individuals.   • Manage the Privacy Program for MJHS, its participating agencies, and Elderplan. Develop, implement, and maintain privacy policies and procedures for MJHS, its participating agencies, and Elderplan, in compliance with all applicable privacy regulations
  • Collaborate with the MJHS and Elderplan Compliance departments to develop privacy program training content
  • Oversee administration of new-hire and annual privacy and security training for all staff
  • Perform ad hoc live, department specific privacy training upon request or in response to privacy incidents
  • Receive and respond to reports of all potential privacy incidents, including documentation and investigation, root cause analysis, and HIPAA breach analysis
  • Conduct privacy risk assessments to identify potential privacy non-compliance
  • Perform routine auditing and monitoring in response to risk assessment results and to ensure staff are adhering to privacy policies and procedures
  • Investigate potential non-compliance identified through auditing, monitoring, patient complaints, hotline reports, direct reports, or other means
  • Participate in HIPAA enterprise risk assessments, third-party vendor risk assessments, and other risk management activities as necessary
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the VP, Compliance & Privacy
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Health Information Management, Compliance, Law, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • 5 years' experience working in healthcare privacy, healthcare compliance, healthcare information security, or another related field.
  • Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), or similar privacy certifications preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, New York State, and other applicable privacy laws and regulations, and healthcare privacy best practices. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to present to and communicate with staff at all levels, attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
