POSITION SCOPE

A Scale Attendant/Operator is responsible for accurately and efficiently monitoring and recording materials exiting the work area. Scale Operators must also ensure that the equipment is in good working condition, clean and properly maintained. Additionally, they may provide customer service, liaising with drivers and other workers, and ensuring that all delivery and payment details are recorded accurately.

PRIMARY DUTIES



  • Determine material exiting pit to properly bill the customer
  • Receive payment from customers; provide receipts to customers
  • Balance the daily receipts to ensure accurate recordkeeping and appropriate billing
  • Answer the telephone and provide general information to callers
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the work area. Perform other job-related duties, as assigned
  • Acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner towards customers and co-workers
  • Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise
  • Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company's safety standards; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness
  • Perform other duties as assigned



REQUIREMENTS



  • High School Diploma or GED certificate
  • Minimum of 18 years old
  • Experience in a previous position that required the handling of cash and balancing cash and/or receipts.
  • Experience in an environment outside the home with computers and various software programs.
  • Moderate computer proficiency
  • Experience in trucking or in an industrial yard environment
  • Basic math skills
  • Experience with radio communication
