Geismar, LA - 35114 E Hwy 30 - Filling industrial How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Production Associate (Cylinder Sorter) primarily will be responsible for sorting, organizing, counting and movement of high pressure and liquid cylinders from the return area to the correct area of the plant which include the maintenance department, production area and lab. The Sorter will also cross train in the Loaders area and be responsible for meeting all safety standards in the sorting, loading and unloading of cylinder gasses per Airgas procedures.

This Is What Your Day Would Look Like

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 6:30 pm

  • Inspects cylinders before placing into correct staging area, organize cylinders onto pallets, keep a count sheet for documentation and move them to the correct location using Airgas standards.

  • Understands the hazards of various gasses, sizes, and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks.

  • Safely operates a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse/material-handling equipment.

  • Loads cylinders on/off vehicles, using hand truck or chain hoist and records type and quantity of cylinders.

  • Verifies truck inventory, inspects and replaces straps on cylinder pallets, adding information to reports on daily status of shipments.

These Are The Skills You Will Need

  • Ability to perform work during prolonged standing up to 8 hours; frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion also required.

  • Ability to perform very heavy work - routinely lifts 25 - 75 lbs., and occasionally lifts 76 to greater than 100 lbs.

  • Ability to perform work during occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling and finger activities.

  • Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
