Overview Children's Rehabilitation: LCH 4P is a 13 bed pediatric inpatient physical rehabilitation unit. Children served range in age from infancy to 18 years. Children receive 24 hour physician and nursing care, physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, recreational therapy, and school assistance. Nursing care includes all activities of daily living, medication administration, intermittent catheterization, tube feeding, tracheostomy care, ventilator care, and patient/family/caregiver education (acute care, brain and spinal) with take student nurses. Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital (LCH) has taken the community to another level of service to provide care for the growing population of children in our region. At 247 beds, LCH is the largest children's hospital between Atlanta and Washington DC. It serves high acuity patients as the flagship children's hospital within the innovative Atrium Health and offers a full complement of over 125 pediatric subspecialists in over 30 different pediatric specialties. We have 4 pediatric hospitalist teams, a 20-bed PICU (including Cardiac ICU), an 85-bed Level IV NICU, and an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation floor. Levine Children's Hospital is also Charlotte's only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, staffed by doctors trained in pediatric emergency medicine. LCH has successfully ranked as a Best Children's Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report for 16 consecutive years. Additionally, Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center and Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital have earned Magnet re-designation from The American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program. Job Summary The Nurse Aide I assists in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. Assists in maintaining a clean, safe patient environment and performs job responsibilities in a safe manner. Maintains clinical and professional competencies as appropriate to the needs of the patient population served. Essential Functions
Physical Requirements Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stretching, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak and understand English in good understandable terms.
