Job Description:

The Associate Systems Engineer for our CCA (Caribbean Central America) Organization with a background in Cisco Networking Solutions, stays current with Networking technical certifications to be able to make appropriate recommendations to resellers on configuration and design of system solutions.

Promotes product awareness, provides pre-sales technical support including phone support, system diagrams, proposals, and training to upsell the Cybersecurity and Networking product line.

Works closely with vendor management and vendor representatives to execute pre-sales design training activities for partners.

Establishes and develops solid business relationships with suppliers, customers and/or other internal departments. Identifies opportunities to improve the quality of Systems Engineering engagement with internal and external customers. Accept ownership of suggested improvements and work with internal team and vendor, through Systems Engineering Management team to develop an implementation plan. You can also provide technical guidance to partner systems engineers.

What You'll Do:
  • Provides technical presales solutions and configuration design expertise to customers and sales on specified product line(s) in accordance with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Uses independent judgement and discretion in making solution recommendations. No second-level review occurs.

  • Provides sales/marketing support to increase vendor and product awareness.

  • Provides technical presentations/demos/training to sales, support, and customers.

  • Work with Cisco CCW tool to generate a bill of materials based on requirements

  • Participates in departmental projects in leadership/ownership role.

  • Reports on key metrics as designated by product line(s) of responsibility and distributes monthly update to SE Manager, Vendor Management Team, and vendor representative(s).

  • Logs customer requests and role-related activities as established by SE Manager.

  • Provides technical and non-technical input to team members, project leaders, and management, as appropriate.

  • Develops tactical plan and perform associated duties necessary to support goals and objectives aligned to vendor's marketing strategy to grow sales.

  • Participates in trade shows, seminars, trainings, and other marketing events.

  • Attends scheduled assigned vendor(s) team meetings.

  • Seeks and participates in cross-training activities.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities deemed necessary by Systems Engineering Management or Team Lead.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

  • Minimum of (3) years of experience in technical support in at least two of the following technological areas: Networking, Windows and Linux operating systems, Virtualization, Public Cloud.

  • Minimum of (2) year of vendor relations experience in a pre-sales vendor support role

  • Minimum experience of (2) year in formal product presentations and/or experience in technical sales training for small and medium audiences.

  • Experience with Cisco CCW Tool.

  • Able to build strong and effective working relationships with others.

  • Able to work constructively under stress and pressure when faced with heavy workloads and deadlines.

  • Able to create and deliver formal presentations and product/solution demonstrations.

  • Able to show a preference for interacting with people, being friendly, outgoing, eloquent, and socially comfortable.

  • Able to express ideas clearly and transmit the necessary information.

  • Able to use relevant computer system applications (which may include spreadsheets, word processors, etc.) at a basic level.

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Knowledge and/or experience in the related area of responsibility.

  • Possesses strong leadership skills with a willingness to lead, create new ideas and be assertive.

  • Possesses strong organizational and time management skills, pushing tasks through to completion.

  • Able to use relevant computer system applications (which may include spreadsheets, word processors, databases, etc.) at an intermediate level.

Other Education/Certifications:
  • Holds at least 1 industry recognized cybersecurity, networking and/or cloud certification(s) [preferred] (CCNA, CCNP, Security+, Network+, etc.) with a strong commitment to the continuous development of technical skills as evidenced by additional certifications or demonstrated experience in a relevant technology or product line.

  • Previous trade show experience [preferred]

Working Conditions:
  • Professional environment (Remote).

  • On-call availability required as necessary.

  • Occasional non-standard work hours or overtime as business requires.

  • Some travel required.

  • Represents the company to the customer and the customer to the company in all sales-oriented activities.
