The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting jointly to the Vice Chair for Faculty Development, Diversity and Inclusion and the Assistant Director, Faculty Promotions and Faculty Development Programs, the Faculty Development and Diversity Program Coordinator will play a pivotal role in advancing the Department of Medicine's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The incumbent will develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and support underrepresented faculty, while also contributing to the overall faculty development initiatives of the department.

Responsibilities

Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives



  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to increase the representation of underrepresented minorities within the faculty.
  • Collaborate with department leadership to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all faculty members.
  • Coordinate diversity and inclusion initiatives, including workshops, seminars, and cultural events.
  • Track and analyze diversity metrics to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations focused on diversity and inclusion in academia.


Faculty Development



  • Provide administrative support for faculty development programs, including mentoring, leadership development, and career advancement initiatives.
  • Coordinate logistics for faculty development events and workshops.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of faculty evaluation and promotion processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to faculty development activities.


General Administrative Support



  • Provide general administrative support to the Vice Chair for Faculty Development, Diversity and Inclusion and the Assistant Director, Faculty Promotions and Faculty Development Programs.
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and prepare correspondence.
  • Prepare reports and presentations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., human resources, education, or social sciences), or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Master's degree in a related field (e.g., higher education administration, public policy).
  • Experience with diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Progressive administrative experience, preferably in a higher education or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of faculty development principles and practices.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and workloads.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., database management systems, project management tools).
  • Willingness to travel for conferences or meetings, as needed.
  • Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
