Application Window Open date: November 21, 2024 Next review date: Sunday, Dec 8, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Thursday, Nov 20, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine, University of California, Davis, is recruiting for one full-time Anesthesiologist Researcher/Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Clinical X series. The successful candidate will be allocated 50% of time exclusively to research. Ideal candidates should have a demonstrated history of securing funding and will work in collaboration with the department Chair for the mentorship and the development of junior faculty. The ideal candidates should have a background in basic science or neuroscience, are mid-career, and actively engaged in outcomes-based research. Research responsibilities include conducting high-quality, innovative research within the field of anesthesiology. The successful candidate will demonstrate continuous leadership and significant scholarly contributions. While the focus of this position is research, leadership in grant acquisition, publication, and scholarly impact is essential. The candidate is expected to lead research programs or sub-programs, develop new research projects, and contribute to the writing of grant proposals and publications. The department includes clinical research coordinators (CRCs) who assist with IRB submissions, consent acquisition, and data analysis. Support for grant writing, staffing, and funding will be assessed on an individual basis. As general anesthesiologists, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing general, regional and ambulatory anesthesia in the operating rooms and non-operating room locations of UC Davis Medical Center and may include OB and Women's Services. Responsibilities include patient care, participation in the general or OB call schedule, clinical education of medical students, residents and fellows, as well as service commitment that vary by academic rank. A proportion of the clinical duties may involve working as solo faculty. Rank and Salary are commensurate with experience. MD/DO, graduation from an ACGME approved residency program and ABA board certification or eligibility, experience teaching medical students and/or residents and fellows. Additional qualifications

Demonstrated track record of leadership and significant contributions in anesthesiology research, with evidence of peer-reviewed publications, grants, and collaborative research impact. Strong record of innovative scholarly contributions, with a proven ability to lead or contribute significantly to research projects, publications, and grant writing. Active participation in professional societies and demonstrated experience presenting research findings at conferences. Preferred qualifications
