MaineHealth Access to Care is seeking a junior or senior high school student to join their team this school year as a Screening Specialist Trainee! This customer service role will interact with patients and community members, provide information about the Access to Care programs to callers and walk-in inquiries and serve as the first point of triage screening via telephone and/or in person. They will schedule applicants for comprehensive intake and enrollment services, or other health related services and process referrals as appropriate. This role will also assist with other tasks related to enrollment, re-enrollment, prescription assistance, case management, and other projects as assigned by the Program Coordinator/Leader to ensure members can access care as necessary. Successful applicants will have a positive demeanor and provide a welcoming presence to patience in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, multi-lingual setting.

The position hours will be Monday- Friday, 1:30-4:30pm and will be located in Portland at 241 Oxford Street.

Summary:
The Trainee - Screening Specialist role provides information about the Access to Care (ATC) programs to callers and walk in inquiries and completes initial triage screening via telephone and/or in person, schedules applicants for comprehensive intake and enrollment services, or other health related services and referrals as needed and appropriate.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High school degree or GED preferred.

2. License/Certifications: N/A

3. Experience: Experience in a customer service role preferred. Experience in a multi-lingual setting preferred.

4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A

5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proficient Microsoft Office skills.
