Material Handler III

The material handling focus is in the primary employee department. Performs most primary department material handling tasks and frequently performs tasks in a secondary department to relieve bottlenecks. May perform system tasks in the primary or secondary departments as well. Drives company vehicles between buildings.

ESSENTIAL JOB
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

For Shipping Department as Primary


  • Pick, pack, and ship customer orders - parcel and consolidated.


  • Insure rush orders are picked, packed, and shipped to meet deadlines.


  • Process international shipments.


  • Assist with returns and/or inventory tasks as assigned.

For Returns Department as Primary


  • Check-in and process returned customer - all types.


  • Rebox and put away loose books from returned customer orders.


  • Process rejected returns by reboxing and returning them to customer.


  • Assist with shipping and/or inventory tasks as assigned.

For Inventory Department as Primary


  • Assign and maintain forward picking locations.


  • Pull products, assemble bundles, and manage bundling process in the system.


  • Perform overstock and OOP reductions and perform the movements and adjustments in the system


  • Assist with shipping and/or returns tasks as assigned.

Common Essential Tasks


  • Assemble kits when needed.


  • Insure cleanliness of general work areas and walkways.


  • Assist with product counting during cycle counts.


  • Load/Unload shipments.


  • Assist in the movement of inventory for replenishment.


  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND
EDUCATION

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:


  • High School diploma or equivalent.


  • 2 to 4 years experience in inventory control, shipping, receiving, and/or other warehouse activities.


  • Valid California
    driver's license.


  • Prior certification in driving a forklift/order picker.


  • Proficiency in operating a computer or automated shipping system.


  • Knowledge of good inventory control principles and procedures.


  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
