Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative Compensation Manager to join our team. If you're a strategic problem solver with a passion for designing effective compensation strategies, we want to hear from you!

Role Overview:

This leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in compensation strategy, program management, and data analysis to drive the success of MSK's compensation initiatives. As a Compensation Manager, you will provide consultation across clinical and administrative departments, manage large compensation programs, and lead market analysis efforts. You will work closely with HR partners to design, develop, and implement compensation strategies that align with MSK's strategic goals while ensuring competitiveness and equity.

Key Responsibilities:

    Compensation Consultation : Work closely with clinical and administrative departments, as well as HR partners, to identify and implement compensation strategies that meet the unique needs of each department. Provide guidance on compensation policies, salary recommendations, FLSA designations, job evaluations, and incentive plans.
  • Compensation Program Management: Manage complex compensation programs, ensuring alignment with MSK's strategic goals and market competitiveness. Lead enterprise-wide projects to enhance pay programs, including faculty compensation redesign, APP compensation structures, and compliance initiatives.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct independent market analyses to benchmark MSK's compensation strategies, using tools such as MarketPay, Excel, Tableau, and Workday. Provide actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders. Collaborate with compensation teams in job evaluations and analysis to ensure alignment with MSK's compensation philosophy.
  • Department Operations: Develop and implement efficient processes for compensation program delivery. Collaborate with Total Reward Operations, Payroll, HRIS, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and successful project outcomes.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in compensation, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Good knowledge of compensation principles, market data analysis, and job evaluation methods.
  • Experience with compensation tools (MarketPay, Workday, Tableau, Excel, etc.) and the ability to analyze complex data sets.
  • Proven track record of managing compensation programs and projects across multiple departments and collaborators.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across various teams and levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop creative solutions to compensation challenges.
  • Excellent communication and training abilities, including the capacity to educate and guide colleagues on compensation policies and standard methodologies.
