DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Information Technology Generalist 1, you will serve in the project manager role for desktop IT projects using established project management methodologies. You will work with the program areas within the Delivery Center Departments on desktop IT projects like PC replacements and deployments, PC relocations during a office move, and multi-function device (MFD) lease replacements. You will determine the project requirements, request and review quotes, create project plans, coordinate support, monitor progress, and conduct post-project reviews. This position requires close work and coordination of other IT groups, business program areas, and vendors on contract to ensure projects are as successful and least disruptive to the program areas as possible. The position is also responsible for Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM). This includes, but is not limited to: maintaining inventory of hardware and software assets and configuration items, working with other areas to ensure assets are categorized and updated correctly with the ITSM tool (ServiceNow), obtaining quotes, ensuring software is renewed in a timely manner, coordination of asset maintenance and repair, and physical surplus of assets. By assisting the program areas with their IT project and asset needs you are allowing them to focus on their mission of improving the quality of life for Pennsylvania's individuals and families. - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/day.
- Work hours may range from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (candidate may decide schedule), Monday - Friday. Lunch period will be based on selected work schedule (30 minute/1 hour lunch).
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, and report to the Harrisburg headquarters office 1 day per week with the option to telework up to 4 days per week. This could change and you may be required to come into the office more frequently. Specific in-office day will be determined by staffing requirements. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office at 2525 North 7th Street, Harrisburg, PA.
- You will be required to report to the Harrisburg office daily during your initial training period, during which you will be assigned equipment. Other reasons for coming into the office include changes to the current telework policy that would require staff to come into the office, to attend training, mandatory meetings, or on an ad hoc basis. Your supervisor will give you at least a 24 hour notice and all travel will be at your own expense. Parking is located at the building and is free.
- Salary: Selected candidates, who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary (before taxes) of $58,035.00.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician; or
- One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
- Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
