Description
Employment Program Support position to the INARNG. Position is in Muncie and includes working with soldiers and helping them find employment. General Summary:
The Employment Coordinator (EC) is a key member of the WFWIN program, dedicated to empowering service members, veterans, and their families to achieve civilian career success. This role involves translating military skills into civilian opportunities, providing personalized employment support, and building partnerships with employers and community organizations. ECs serve as trusted advisors within their regions, delivering tailored guidance in resume writing, interview preparation, and job placement. By staying informed on hiring trends, industry needs, and economic shifts, the EC ensures that clients are equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary to navigate today's job market Client Support
- Conduct individualized assessments to create actionable career development plans.
- Assist clients with resume writing, interview preparation, and job applications.
- Provide one-on-one coaching to ensure clients access resources and achieve employment goals.
- Translate military occupational specialties (MOS), experience, and skills into civilian career qualifications.
- Educate clients on how to effectively communicate their military experience to civilian employers.
- Identify transferable skills and recommend certifications or training to bridge gaps for civilian careers.
Community Engagement
- Build and maintain a directory of community, state, and federal resources to support client needs.
- Develop strong relationships with employers, labor unions, and training programs.
- Participate in community presentations and networking events to promote the program.
- Program Collaboration
- Work closely with INNG unit leadership to support retention efforts through employment services.
- Schedule and deliver employment-focused briefings during drill weekends, family days, and other INNG events.
- Maintain contact with deployed personnel and their families to provide pre- and post-deployment employment assistance.
Self-Development and Industry Awareness
- Stay updated on current hiring trends, industry-specific needs, and economic shifts that impact job markets.
- Regularly research and implement best practices for resume development, including military skill translation.
- Enhance knowledge of modern interview techniques, including behavioral and industry-specific interview styles.
- Actively pursue professional development opportunities, such as attending workshops, webinars, or certifications related to career counseling and employment services.
- Monitor emerging job markets, industries, and economic developments to better guide clients toward in-demand roles.
- Adapt services and tools to align with technological advancements in recruitment and hiring practices.
Reporting and Metrics
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all client interactions, employment outcomes, and event activities in the program database.
- Submit weekly, monthly, and event-specific reports to track program performance and support data-driven decision-making.
Event Facilitation
- Organize and participate in job fairs, hiring events, workshops, and briefs tailored to client needs.
- Collaborate with employers, community organizations, and unit leadership to schedule and conduct employment-focused briefings and workshops during INNG events such as drill weekends and yellow ribbon programs.
- Collect and track event data, including attendance, client interactions, and employment outcomes, to evaluate effectiveness and inform future planning.
- Represent the WFWIN program at regional networking events to build partnerships and increase program visibility.
Qualifications
- Highly desires Associates Degree
- 1 Year Army/Air Guard experience directly related to requirements of the contract.
- Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point
- Strong Communication Skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Direct experience with NGB Programs and Software
