We Require
Experience in skilled care, acute care, primary care physician practice, prehospital or hospital emergency medical care Completion of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program meeting AZDHS requirements

Assists in providing basic emergency medical care during medical emergencies in a detention setting Operates under the current scope of practice of the medical direction protocols for emergency medical care technicians Administers, monitors, and assists patients with the self-administration of medications through their administrative medical directors delegated authority Gathers patient vital signs, obtains specimens, performs ordered treatments, and applies dressings Works closely with a multidisciplinary team to monitor patients Recognizes and documents the signs and symptoms of medical needs warranting additional professional expertise and notifying the appropriate medical staff of changes in patient's condition, reaction to medications and/or treatments, and other significant incidents Performs any other duties within the scope of practice
Working Conditions
Ability to work inside a jail environment Will be assigned to various clinical locations in the Phoenix area within a 5-mile radius Ability to respond to emergencies and get on the floor to perform CPR/chest compressions, push medical equipment, climb stairs, and lift patients on a gurney Must complete an EMT program meeting AZDHS requirements and pass the national registry of EMT (NREMT) exam and possess a valid Arizona EMCT license upon hire A BLS, CPR, and First Aid certification training is provided during new hire orientation Must complete an MCSO-HR fingerprint/background check and maintain CPR certification
