Vacancy #2
Description
Our lab seeks an energetic individual to help us drive our research forward. We are cell biologists who study the cell division processes of meiosis and mitosis. We use budding yeast cells for much of our work, using live-cell microscopy for timing of cell cycle stages and monitoring chromosome segregation. We engineer mutations within budding yeast strains and perform analyses using different biochemical, genetic, and molecular assays. An interest in either live-cell microscopy or genetics is strongly desired for this position. The successful applicant would work on their own research project in addition to maintaining the laboratory. We encourage applications from recent college graduates as well as those with post-baccalaureate training in genetics, biochemistry, cell or molecular biology. Extensive experience is not required, but a willingness and motivation to learn is essential.
