Bright Horizons is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our HR Insights & Analytics Team. This role will be instrumental in leading our predictive analytics function within Human Resources. You will work closely with HR leaders to understand their data needs and uncover insights to drive strategic HR decisions.

What you will be doing in the role:

  • Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze employee data and support data-driven decision making across HR and the business.

  • Use predictive analytics to forecast workforce changes, predict future employee behaviors, and inform HR strategies.

  • Mine and analyze data from multiple structured and unstructured sources to drive optimization and improvement of HR and business strategies.

  • Create data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets.

  • Collaborate with HR COE's to identify key performance indicators and metrics for talent acquisition, retention, and development based on statistical models.

  • Build and implement predictive data models within HR existing processes and workflows.

  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and compelling manner; build applicable visualizations to help "tell the story"

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.

  • Evaluate and recommend products and tools to enable accelerated learning and analytics.

  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.

  • Enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems.

What we hope you will bring to the role:

Required - Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics or a related field, data science certification a plus.

Required - 5 years of experience as a data scientist on an HR or People Analytics team.

Would relevant experience be considered in lieu of applicable degree?

Yes - 3 additional years

Additional Job Requirements

  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Python) and data visualization tools (e.g., Qliksense, Tableau, Power BI) to manipulate data and draw insights from variety of data sets.

  • Strong understanding of machine learning techniques (Forecasting, Benchmarking, Clustering, Decision Tree Learning, etc.) and their application in workforce analytics.

  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts - Regression, Sampling, Outliers Detection, Linear & Multiple Regression, Time series forecasting, Exponential Smoothing etc.

  • Experience working with large datasets, data wrangling and building complex dimensional data models.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • A collaborative team player with a problem-solving mindset.

Salary and Other Compensation Disclosures

The annual starting salary rate for this position is between $115,000 - 125,000 annually. The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education and training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.
