Are you passionate about creating innovative transportation solutions that promote mobility and sustainability? David Evans and Associates Inc. (DEA) is seeking a motivatedTransportation Engineer-in-Training (EIT)to join our dynamic Denver Transportation Group. In this role, you will support our Roads and Highways group and have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of impactful transportation projects.

What You'll Do:

As an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) at DEA, you will play a crucial role in delivering impactful transportation projects that enhance the quality of life in communities. Your contributions will include:



  • Project Collaboration: Partnering with project teams to support all phases of project delivery, including setup, drafting, design, quality assurance, and coordination.





  • Transportation Design: Preparing and designing improvement plans for multi-modal transportation projects, focusing on innovative solutions and adherence to high-quality standards.





  • Document Development: Creating and refining construction documents, reports, specifications, cost estimates, and designs for diverse transportation initiatives.





  • Data Analysis: Reviewing maps, reports, drawings, as-builts, and test results to inform and enhance project design efforts.





  • Post-Design Support: Assisting with construction services, including responding to contractor RFIs, reviewing submittals, preparing as-builts, and performing field observations.





  • Construction Inspections: Conducting on-site inspections to ensure construction aligns with project specifications and quality standards.





  • Utility Coordination: Supporting conflict analysis and stakeholder communication to facilitate smooth utility coordination.



Basic Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.





  • Certification: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with a commitment to obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license.





  • Experience: 1-3 years of professional engineering experience.





  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).





  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.





  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Advanced Design Tools: Experience with Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads for alignment design and 3D surface modeling.





  • Transportation Focus: Background in civil engineering with a concentration in transportation projects.





  • Design Experience: 1+ years of experience in designing transportation-related projects.
