The Sr Manager, Engineeringis responsible for overseeing the design, architecture, and delivery of high-quality software solutions. The scope of this job includes leading a team of engineers and technical experts, driving both technical and operational success, and fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.

This role will lead the development and evolution ofWellSky's Interoperability Platformand drive the creation of WellSky's next-generationEvent Hub. The ideal candidate will bring a combination ofstrong technical expertiseandproven people management skills. Success in this role will require the ability to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders across multiple business units, includingProduct Management, Professional Services, andBusiness Operations, to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a software development team and foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture by providing guidance, mentorship, and support in order to help them grow professionally.
  • Own the successful delivery of critical projects by managing timelines, resources, and risks to ensure high-quality and timely delivery.
  • Drive the prioritization process, balancing short-term business needs with long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership to present progress, challenges, and key decisions, and work closely with solution managers, designers, and other leaders across WellSky to align technical solutions with business needs.
  • Own system architecture decisions, including evaluating trade-offs and ensuring that technical debt is managed appropriately, and drive efforts to ensure that software solutions are scalable, high-performing, and resilient.
  • Support the development of future engineering leaders by mentoring senior engineers, setting clear goals, and fostering a high level of technical expertise within the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 6-8 years relevant work experience
  • 2-4 years relevant management work experience
  • Strong comprehension of REST API, C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, and full-stack application development
  • Knowledge of Application Security principles and frameworks (Oauth2 etc.)
  • Experience building highly scalable and reliable platforms.
  • Experience working with Agile teams rolling out software versioning and hot fixes in the support of client requirements
  • Knowledge of DevOps, Pipelines, CI/CD and Automation using industry standard tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in healthcare
  • Prior integration with standards like HL7 and FHIR
  • GCP cloud native development

Job Expectations:

  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed
  • Must work in accordance with applicable security policies and procedures to safeguard company and client information
  • Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time
