Job Summary
Applies fundamental knowledge of basic principles, theories, concepts and industry practices to participate in and/or lead and facilitate cross-functional process improvement teams using the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) problem solving process. Plans, directs and coordinates the application of Six Sigma, Lean, and Theory of Constraint (TOC) process improvements. Ensure the implementation of related policies, procedures, work instructions and control plans to sustain improvements.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
- Solves problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures for guidance. Work is closely monitored and the results reviewed for accuracy and adequacy.
- Applies the appropriate Six Sigma, Lean, and Theory of Constraint tools to improve process capability and eliminate defects. Participate in or Lead clusters of projects and major business initiatives to reduce cost and/or increase through put. Educate, coach, and mentor others on NBS philosophy and application. Teaches and transfers problem solving skills to team leaders, team members, and general audiences.
- Gathers and analyzes data and collaborates with internal process leaders to identify key opportunities for improvement of products, processes, and services. Develops and executes improvement strategies. Participates or leads in the execution of Kaizen and Improvement Projects. Implement changes in administrative and production processes, job assignments, working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work team. Engage stakeholders in driving change and improving business results.
Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment. |

Education Requirements
Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree. In appropriate discipline. If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.Experience Requirements 0-2 year(s) Related experience and/or training. Skills and Competencies
- Must be able to read and write the English language, perform basic mathematical calculations and learn to interpret and comprehend company policies, procedures, safety instructions, and other like documents used in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Operates standard office equipment and demonstrates competence in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Makes telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and makes formal presentations to small or large groups.
- May perform work of lesser skilled employees.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.
