We Require
Five years of full-time law enforcement experience which includes two years of experience in a full-time plain clothes investigative assignment with a State, County, Municipal, or Federal law enforcement agency High School diploma or GED
Other Requirements
Applicant must be certified by the State of Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (AZ POST) as a full authority Peace Officer and in good standing at the time of appointment Valid AZ Driver's License upon hire
We Also Value
Preference will be given to those applicants with documented experience in the investigation of complex criminal cases, and experience working with prosecutors Preferred training and Certifications may be dependent upon Division needs. Bilingual skills in English/Spanish may be required for some positions
Job Contributions
Conduct interviews of victims/witnesses in criminal cases Locate witnesses, documents, information, and evidentiary items Develop, utilize, and maintain informants and information resources Conduct internal administrative investigations as assigned Compose extensive reports, memos, and other correspondence using a computer Serve criminal subpoenas, legal process and/or documents as required Maintain AZ peace officer certification requirements in accordance with AZ POST Admin Code R-13-4-111 for all sworn positions Meet with attorneys and assist in the preparation of cases for trial Testify in court as required Perform advanced, specialized, or original criminal investigations, which may involve undercover or covert responsibilities, search warrants, and arrests Operate a motor vehicle
Working Conditions
Office and enclosed areas in a fast-paced environment with frequent stressful situations May require long periods of sitting while completing paperwork, standing, and moving about during the course of performing duties Ability to travel to and from various county locations for court appearances, investigations, meetings, and trainings, utilizing personal or county-owned vehicles Ability to move up to 20 pounds
