Accreditation Review Associate (RN)

The Accreditation Review Associate will assist facilities in becoming accredited with the designations of Chest Pain and Heart Failure Accreditation per the criteria defined by ACC Accreditation Services.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Conduct on-site or video site reviews at facilities that request any of the Accreditation services offered by the ACC to assure they meet the items in the accreditation Tools. This includes engaging in interactive dialogue with the health care organization while on-site regarding the items in the Accreditation Tool to assess gaps and areas for improvement
  • Serve in an advisory capacity to assure facilities understand the requirements for accreditation and facilitate their success. Review accreditation materials submitted by facilities seeking accreditation for completeness and to ensure that materials meet the essential component requirements in the Accreditation Tool
  • Participate in presentations and professional trade shows to educate the public and other professionals regarding the benefits of all accreditations
  • Communicate and coordinate with facilities to arrange site reviews and secure additional documentation for accreditation review, if needed
  • Prepare summary report to the Accreditation Review Committee and to the reviewed facility to articulate findings from the site review, accreditation decision, and potential opportunities for improvement
  • Other duties as assigned may include but are not limited to: support research projects, assist with committee development work, and assist in developing site review criteria
  • Work collaboratively with all team members to assure the mission and vision of ACC Accreditation Services are upheld
  • Attend the mandatory training sessions offered to the review staff throughout the year
  • Be a good steward of the organization's funds as a non-profit entity serving the public and providing services to health care entities
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all information provided by health care entities

Required Qualifications:



  • Healthcare professional with a background in pre-hospital emergency care, nursing, research, Cardiac Cath Lab, Transcatheter Valve, Electrophysiology services or another cardiovascular related medical field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active licensure for stated area of practice
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must represent ACC Accreditation Services in a professional manner and with integrity
  • Must have a basic knowledge of the services in which you will provide Accreditation oversights and standards of current best practice. It is expected the reviewer will obtain a level of expertise once employed
  • At the minimum, must demonstrate a basic knowledge of performance improvement activities and metrics
  • Must have intermediate computer skills including but not limited to spreadsheets, word processing and e-mail access
  • Must be able to think critically to analyze data and articulate findings to the health care facility
  • Must have high-speed internet connection availability in work environment that will support WebEx or other online meeting venues without issue
  • Must be able to travel up to 80% of the time and work evenings or weekends as required for site reviews or trade shows
  • Must be able to travel on aircraft and lift/carry luggage up to 75 pounds, must also be able to drive a car
  • Must be able to work in settings in which infectious diseases may be present.

Desired Qualifications:


  • Five years' healthcare experience in an acute care environment
  • Process improvement background
  • CPHQ certification

ACC believes in fair and equitable pay. Multiple factors are taken into consideration when we determine what salary to offer a selected candidate. These factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, as well as internal equity, market, and business considerations. Our salary ranges differ based on the cost of labor in the local market where the job will be performed. For this role in Washington, DC (and other high-cost of labor markets if applicable, including California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, New York, Washington) the target base salary range is: $80,000 - $110,000. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range based on factors including, experience, education, training, professional achievement, business need, and location. The salary ranges for other locations in the US will vary based on the local labor market; ACC's Recruitment Team will be happy to provide more information to candidates during initial discussions.
