Do you want to work on the most complex projects in the Rail industry? We are proud to be Lead consultant for the Copenhagen Future Rail Network and for the Resignalling and Renewals of Rolling Stock (3XR) for Copenhagen Metro M1M2 lines, two ground-breaking projects that will transform the way people travel in one of Europe's most dynamic cities.

Give a significant boost to public transportation and benefit mobility and climate.
The brownfield transformation of old railway systems to a modern fully automated system (GoA4), while minimising passenger disruption and guaranteeing service availability sets a new standard for the industry. Therefore, we are looking for a CBTC System Engineer to join our project team. This challenge attracts experts from all over the world to Copenhagen, in a fully integrated highly skilled and experienced team.

The Signalling CBTC System Engineer is responsible to provide advanced skills and professional advice for the design, implementation, and integration of Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) systems. The role requires deep technical understanding, strategic planning, and close coordination with clients to ensure safe, efficient, and disruption-free transitions to driverless operations.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Oversee the transition and integration of current railway signalling systems to CBTC, handling every stage from initial planning and risk evaluation to testing and smooth implementation.
  • Develop strategies to minimize operational disruptions during system migration and integration activities.
  • Define and maintain system design, including concept design, functional requirements, and integration strategies for CBTC signalling and control systems.
  • Oversee supplier management, from tendering and technical evaluation to design, testing, and delivery in compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Coordinate integration with rolling stock, control rooms, and legacy systems to ensure full operational compatibility.
  • Manage software development and testing, applying modern engineering practices and methodologies tailored to CBTC environments.

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future
The initial key to thriving in this role is your willingness to engage collaboratively with those around you, including colleagues, partners, and customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.

On top of that, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years' experience within CBTC system design, implementation, and commissioning.
  • Thorough understanding of and experience with CBTC technologies, such as ATP and ATO, and associated communication protocols, and experience with UTO driverless systems.
  • Extensive experience in writing and handling CBTC functional and technical requirements.
  • Project management and leadership skills on a technical level.
