Position Overview:

Performs microbiological testing for human tissue and medical device samples, as well as environmental and water monitoring. Monitors cultures for the presence of microbial growth. Ensures that all areas identified as Principal Responsibilities are accomplished in an efficient, professional manner.

Responsibilities:



  • Perform microbiological testing of tissue specimens and medical devices, including bioburden, sterility, and endotoxin testing.
  • Process donor serological samples.
  • Perform environmental monitoring of cleanrooms.
  • Perform water monitoring of process and clean steam water systems.
  • Read, report results, and sub-culture microbiological culture samples (Negative Bench).
  • Perform and report bacterial identifications for environmental isolates.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in the cleanrooms and laboratory, including assigned monthly cleaning.
  • Effectively complete other functions that may be assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or a related scientific field.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must have good communication skills (written and oral).
  • Capable of working without direct supervision.
  • Must be able to effectively manage and prioritize numerous projects and responsibilities.
  • Must be available to work Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - 7:00AM - 5:30PM.
