ARES Corporation is seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide remote project management support for the Chief Data Office (CDO) as part of NASA's Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. This enterprise-level contract supports NASA's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Communications (OCOMM) by delivering multimedia and technical communications through internet and digital platforms, while managing IT services.

From photographing rocket launches and producing engaging videos to IT management and sharing NASA's mission via social media, eMITS integrates NASA IT services with impactful communication to inspire the world. Join us in supporting NASA's mission of exploration and discovery!

This position may be remote, hybrid, or onsite. Employees are responsible for travel costs to their nearest NASA Center for badging and issuance of NASA IT equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
This role includes but is not limited to the following activities:

  • Assist with database analytics for the Chief Data Officer.
  • Establish best practices for leveraging AI Governance to ensure tools and systems remain ethical and safe.
  • Document policies and processes for Data Management and Data Sharing.
  • Support the implementation of a NASA data catalog.
  • Facilitate working groups and tiger teams to grow NASA's data stewardship community of practice.
  • Assist with Data Reference Architecture analytics and develop tools for enhanced data search and discovery.
  • Develop a continuous improvement process for evolving the Chief Data Office.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish and assess metrics aligned with NASA's IT Strategic Plan, supporting both internal and external performance reporting.
  • Develop and present performance reports for the CDO front office and OCIO.
  • Ensure compliance with best practices and established policies.
  • Define requirements for the performance management capability aligned with OCIO Program/Project Management (PPM) and IT Service Management (ITSM).

Key Deliverables

  • Performance Management Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the CDO.
  • Risk tracking and reporting for the CDO.
  • Documented requirements for enterprise solution tools.
  • Policies for Data Management and Data Sharing.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8+ years of project management experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Data Architecting.
  • 3-5 years of experience in performance management (business/mission outcomes, project execution, and operational delivery).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Familiarity with Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and/or Balanced Scorecard practices.
  • Experience using tools to capture and implement requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, OneDrive), SharePoint, and Box.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Strategy Management (desired).
  • ITIL Certification (desired).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Project (desired).
