About the Job

The Millwork Estimator will be responsible for developing detailed budgets, scopes of work, and material specifications for intricate cabinet and millwork projects to ensure profitability and alignment with project goals. The Millwork Estimator will foster relationships with key associates across the organization, including design, client, and operations teams, and coordinate with domestic and overseas preconstruction teams to ensure the successful completion of deliverables. The position will report to the Business & Shop Operations Manager.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Estimation

  • Strategic Estimation: Lead the development of detailed budgets and scopes of work that align with both project and organizational goals.

  • Management Review Meetings: Lead management review meetings prior to bid submission to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned and optimized.

  • Project Handover: Conduct hand-over meetings with the production team to ensure a seamless transition from estimation to execution.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaboration: Forge strong partnerships with design, client, and operations teams to ensure that project specifications meet strategic business objectives.

  • RFI Management: Manage the Request for Information process to effectively communicate, clarify ambiguities, and confirm project requirements.

  • Preconstruction Collaboration: Engage with both domestic and overseas preconstruction teams to conduct accurate quantity take-offs, essential for maintaining project cost-effectiveness and feasibility. This includes coordinating across various time zones and cultures to ensure clear, consistent communication.

Technical & Material Management

  • Material Specification: Precisely specify necessary materials and hardware, adhering to technical and environmental standards.

Non-essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Work Experience, & Physical Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related field; master's degree, preferred.

  • 3-5 years' experience in construction estimation, specializing in custom millwork, cabinetry, and countertops.

  • Proven experience in an executive support role or similar position.

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in using business software and tools, including MS Office and project management applications.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Financial Acumen: Background in accounting, finance, business, or economics is beneficial.
