Renown Health serves northern Nevada, Lake Tahoe, and northeastern California, and is the region's only Level II trauma center, serving a population of over 1 million patients. Affiliated with the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, Renown offers robust academic opportunities, including graduate and undergraduate medical education. As a key member of the academic team, you will provide comprehensive medical care, while playing a pivotal role in training the next generation of physicians. This position also provides opportunities for involvement in research and quality improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and mentoring residents and students in a collaborative, academic, and patient-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the attending physician and team leader, providing education, mentorship, and supervision to medical residents and students, ensuring their clinical training aligns with academic standards.
• Deliver verbal and written feedback to learners, guiding their development in inpatient care.
• Engage in scholarly activities, including research initiatives and/or quality improvement projects to advance medical knowledge and improve patient care practices.
• Participate in continuing education to stay current with medical advancements and trends in hospital medicine.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams and collaborate with faculty, residents, and staff to maintain a collaborative and patient-centered care environment.

Academic Components of this Role:

• Collaborate with the UNR School of Medicine and Renown Health to support educational, clinical, and research initiatives.
• Enhance clinical rotation opportunities for medical residents and students, fostering a dynamic learning environment.
• Participate in the development of scholarly projects and/or research, contributing to the academic mission of UNR School of Medicine.
• Mentor residents and students in case-based and didactic learning to prepare them for their future careers in medicine.
