JOB SUMMARY: Polar Test Engineering team is looking for an entry-level engineer, who will be managing a device lab and the test instruments in the lab. This job handles device and reliability test instruments, prepare reliability test samples, and support bench characterizations of semiconductor devices requested from internal or external customers. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage device lab test instruments (precision manual probe stations, semiconductor parametric analyzers, capacitance measurement units, and related subset of tester components), including periodic maintenance and calibration arrangements to keep the instruments best performing status
- Perform bench characterization of Polar's process control monitor (PCM) test structures, e.g. I-V or C-V curve measurement of MOSFET or bipolar junction transistors, resistors, capacitors, and generate characterization report to the customers requested the characterization. Coding test program if needed
- Support to prepare test samples for the test if needed, especially for long-term reliability test pseud-package samples, by working on die-cutting and wire-binding of targeted test structures to be tested
- Support to perform device modeling tests, under the guide of device modeling engineer, including S-parameter measurements, corner property measurements, etc.
- Support to perform wafer-level reliability tests, under the guide of reliability test engineer, including time-dependent dielectric breakdown (TDDB), hot-carrier injection instability (HCI), bias-temperature instability (BTI), electro-migration (EM), and stress-migration (SM) tests
- Communicate with test engineering, technology development, design enablement, data analytics, and quality team members to get clear understandings on the test requirements and to provide conclusive measurement results
- Communicate with test instrument manufacturers and outside service vendors to fix a problematic behavior of the test instruments.
- Perform device lab management and bench characterization related duties as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or other microelectronics engineering related field, or associate degree
- Knowledge on measurement instruments, e.g. parametric analyzer, precision wafer prober
- Knowledge on semiconductor devices, resistors, capacitors
- Experience using data handling tools: Excel, JMP, MATLAB, etc.
- Problem solving, technical writing, and communication skills.
- Experience using automatic parametric test or reliability test system is a plus.
- Semiconductor CAD tool experience is a plus.
The estimated base salary range for the position is $77,000- $90,000. The pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, job-related experience, skills and level of the position.
