The Role

Mission:

To facilitate growth and profitability of the APT Configuration Center through strong commitment to the delivery of high-quality customer service to all customers (internal and external). Plus, ensure that the customer's expectations are met or exceeded every time.

Responsible for executing the APT Configuration Center's mission through day-to-day oversight of the workshop and service technicians, and if applicable, the purchasing and logistics coordinator. Focus on daily service operations/coordination of APT shop employees while developing technical competency within the group. Act as the senior technical advisor to the group.

Role and Responsibilities:



  • Develop and promote the service aspect of the APT business to best generate profitable service revenues.
  • Implement procedures to ensure that all service activities are performed in an organized and structured manner.
  • Ensure competence development on product, technical and administrative training issues.
  • Handle warranty issues with customers & provide quality feedback to Product Companies.
  • Manage, coach, train and lead employees in a fashion that is consistent with our company's culture and management philosophy.
  • Organize, document and maintain procedures for all Service functions.
  • Prepare necessary information as requested whether routine or for special occasions.
  • Maintain accurate records of tools, equipment, parts and supplies in the inventory.
  • Work to understand and utilize information and communication systems and tools, i.e. e-mail, Microsoft Office software, SAP, etc.
  • Prepare tools and equipment for shipment by identifying location, picking FIFO orders, staging for shipping.
  • Configure pneumatic tools required for the local market.
  • Perform diagnostic, repairs, preventive maintenance and malfunctions of pneumatic tools.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance, tools, equipment and order supplies.
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day facility operations, including the receipt, storage and distribution of tools and materials.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for business expansion and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead daily operations with a strong focus on safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Forklift operation experience and valid driver's license.



Supervisory Responsibility:

Responsible for the direction, coordination and evaluation of the APT workshop employees (1-2 employees).

Responsibilities include:



  • training employees
  • planning, assigning and delegating work
  • Performance Management including advising employees, addressing employee complaints, and resolving employee issues.



Travel:

This position requries limited travel (up to 5%).

What we expect of you?

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of technical service experience maintaining and repairing hand-held tools or equivalent is required. Supervisory experience is preferred.

Education:

A 2-year degree or certificate from a technical college or trade school, or 5-7 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Skills Needed:


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate level knowledge of email software, word processing software, spreadsheet software, BPCS experience, and SAP experience.

Language Ability



  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.



Math Ability



  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.



Reasoning Ability



  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases.
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in variable situations where only limited standardization exists.
