Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The School of Dental Medicine is composed of ten administrative offices and four academic departments. The Administrative units include the Offices of the Dean, Vice Dean, Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Associate Dean for Research, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, Associate Dean for Extramural Clinical Practices, Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, Assistant Dean for Dental Education and Informatics, Assistant Dean for Academic Success and the Assistant Dean for Business Operations and Financial Affairs. The four academic departments are Surgical Sciences, Pediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, General Dentistry and Foundational Sciences.
Included in the mission of the School of Dental Medicine is to educate dental care providers (both dental students and dental residents) and to address the oral health care needs of the underserved population of North Carolina. The School of Dental Medicine meets these missions by operating dental clinics that provide both educational experiences for the dental students and residents and provides dental care to the residents of North Carolina. These clinics occur in both Ross Hall in Greenville, North Carolina, as well as Community Service-Learning Centers located throughout North Carolina. To operate these clinics, appropriate dental auxiliaries and clinical staff are needed.
Job Duties
This position is located in Greenville, NC.

The School of Dental Medicine at East Carolina University is looking to build a team of part-time dental hygienists to be a part of a thriving educational environment where you are helping dental students and residents learn and grow into the next generation of dental professionals.
This position will join a team that is dedicated to serve the oral health needs of our state's rural and special needs community and help patients improve their overall systemic health through improve oral healthcare. The dental hygienists will work under the faculty dentist and with residents and students.
The position will be passionate about building relationships with patients, delivering quality care and contributing to a team where everyone is valued and inspired.
Consideration will be given to any FTE appointment.
Minimum Education/Experience
Licensed to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the State of North Carolina.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
Licensed to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the State of North Carolina.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
License or Certification Required by the Department
Licensed to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the State of North Carolina.
