Legal Document Analyst

Position Summary
The Legal Document Analyst is responsible for (i) timely processing all legal documentation received by the bank which requires action or response, (ii) internal gathering, review and investigation of all internal relevant bank information required by the legal process served on the bank, and (iii) distribution both internally and externally of all appropriate legal related requests received by the bank.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compliance with written legal correspondence served to the bank when the bank has proper authority to do so.
  • Review and respond to a wide variety of legal documents such as subpoenas, garnishments, citations, levies, liens, etc. and determine appropriate action, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal laws across Busey's footprint.
  • Assist when requested with providing customer service in accordance with the Busey Promise Service Standards model to internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate responses to legal notices requiring the same in a timely fashion after receipt by the bank especially in those instances when multiple lines of business are involved.
  • Maintain a master record of legal notices received by the bank and all subsequent action for the notice.
  • Consult with legal counsel as needed.
  • Prepare and send correspondence as necessary.
  • Analyze customer's accounts


Education & Experience

Knowledge of:
  • Excellent interpersonal relations to work with various lines of business within the bank, as well as external customers
  • Superior written and organizational skills


Ability to:
  • Frequently work under the pressure of deadlines
  • Take ownership and solve problems independently while applying logic, discretion, and a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Create positive relationships with various lines of business along with internal and external counsel.


Education and Training:
  • High School diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor degree in business related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience processing legal case documents (Levy's, Subpoena's, Summons, etc.) preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of related banking experience or experience in a similar field of work preferred.
  • Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office


Benefits and Compensation

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

(Base Pay Range: $17.00-21.50 /hour)
