Job Summary:
We are looking for an individual who excels in a fast paced, Sheetmetal shop environment focusing on on-time delivery of parts. This person possesses a strong work ethic and will mentor and train team members proper welding and manufacturing processes. They work respectfully within a team and are accountable for their work. This welder is responsible for welding a variety of different materials including carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc. Advanced blueprint reading skills and the ability to weld complex assemblies are crucial in this position. This position is required to hold a D17.1 certification.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Handle parts with care to avoid damage to finishes
- Proficiently weld all processes including TIG, MIG and spot
- Weld a variety of different metals and thicknesses from .020" to .500"
- Able to grind welds per print
- Ability to perform and teach how to Clean as well as do basic maintenance on welders and water coolers
- Ability to perform and teach how to Set up as well as adjust welder for various thicknesses
- Daily inspections of equipment
- Hold current AWS D17.1 certification
- Inspection of your own parts before first piece inspection
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Ability to train others in all aspects of welding
- Function in a safe and reliable manner to prevent personal injury and/or property damage
- Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Possesses AWS D17.1 certification
- 3-5 years' experience welding in a manufacturing environment
- Prototyping experience is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, equipment, hand/power tools, etc., and handle and feel parts of various size
- Ability to bend, kneel and crouch occasionally throughout the shift
- Ability to push, pull or lift 50 lbs. moderately throughout the workday
- Ability to focus vision for: close vision, color vision, depth perception and adjusting to sharp focus
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Manufacturing environment where temperatures drastically change from season to season
- Environment where the following exposures exist loud noise, moving mechanical parts,
- Exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles
- Fast-paced environment
- Exposure to hazards including, but not limited to intense light created by the arc and extremely hot materials
WORK HOURS:
- 5 - 8-hour shifts OR 4 - 10-hour shifts
- Overtime as necessary
- Flexible scheduling in agreement with supervisor
