Job Summary:

Ensures proper training and staffing of Airport Operations Supervisors and personnel, assists or directs emergency response efforts, oversees snow removal/construction activities and assumes duties of Airport Operations Manager during their absence. The job exists to maintain compliance with FAR Part 139 and in the absence of a higher authority and to provide continuity of operations during emergencies or inclement weather.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Supervise and train Airport Operations Supervisor's, AOC 1's, AOC 2's in a 24/7 operation: Ensure staff is trained to meet required Federal regulations, supervise duties of staff. Formulate comprehensive and concise instructions/procedures both in oral and written form.
  • Ensure compliance with required Federal, State, County regulations: Understand compliance with policies and procedures that meet requirements of Federal, State and County.
  • Oversee coordination of construction/snow removal activities: Anticipate consequences of construction projects to maintain airport safety requirements. Oversee coordination of snow removal activities.
  • Maintain work schedules of 24/7 operation: Understand civil service rules and position responsibilities to maintain functionality of the department.
  • Responds to airport emergencies that impact airport safety: Establish priorities and make timely decisions under stressful conditions during airport emergencies. Take charge until relieved by higher authority.
  • Recommend, develop procedures, policies: Updates, creates procedures and policies to comply with Federal, State, and Local regulations for the safety of aircraft, passengers, patrons, and employees at all Airport facilities.
  • Evaluates performance reviews, disciplines: Evaluates and sets standards for staff performance during annual reviews, ensures compliance with work rules.
  • Participates in meetings that impacts airport operations: Ability to communicate and present information.
  • Formulate and coordinate special events: Formulate and coordinate special events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned: Assume duties of the Airport Operations Manager during absence.



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Currently authorized to work in the USA.


  • Valid Driver's License at time of application and ability to obtain WI DL withing 6 months of application.


  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class 1 Airfield Driving Certification after hire.


  • Candidates with one of the following qualifications will be considered:

    • Bachelor's degree in Aviation management, Public Administration, Business Mgt with at least Two (2) or more years of experience in (Part 139) airport operations, snow removal, and airfield inspections.






    • High School diploma with at least Five (5) or more years of experience in (Part 139) airport operations, snow removal, and airfield inspections.




  • At least One (1) or more years of supervisory experience.


  • Knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets.


  • Must undergo a criminal history background check to maintain security clearance for unescorted access to secured areas of the airport.


  • Ability to lift/carry up to 25lbs and push/pull up to 25lbs on an occasional basis.



License/Certification:



  1. AAAE Certified Member (C.M.) preferred
  2. ICS 300, 400 preferred



Hourly Pay Range: $34.17 - $40.80

NOTE: This Original application is open to qualified residents of the United States. Appointee must establish Wisconsin State residency within six (6) months of starting date.
