The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Columbia University Irving Medical Center's Information Technology department is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Information Technology Analyst focusing on Network Operations. In this role, you will monitor and support our organization's IT infrastructure to ensure network reliability, performance, and security. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals starting their career in IT and looking to gain hands-on experience in network operations and support.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

Network Operations

-Monitor and maintain network performance to ensure optimal uptime and functionality.

-Troubleshoot and resolve basic network issues, escalating complex problems when necessary.

-Support routine maintenance of network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.

-Assist with deploying network updates, upgrades, and security patches.

-Provide support to end-users for network connectivity and access issues.

Project Management

-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.

-Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.

-Track and report on project progress using tools.

-Maintain project documentation, including meeting notes, schedules, and status reports.

-Support risk management efforts by identifying potential project issues and suggesting solutions.

And other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

-Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three (3) years of experience.

-Knowledge of basic networking concepts, such as IP addressing, subnets, and routing protocols.

-Familiarity with networking hardware, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.

-Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them effectively.

-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

-Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities.

-Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Solar Winds, Wireshark).

-Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent (preferred but not required).

-Exposure to incident management tools.
