The Missile Defense Radar Operator (MDRO) position is located at Cheyenne Mountain AFS, Colorado.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Provide Long Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR) operations, technical services, and operations support of equipment to meet sensor mission support requirements on 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week (24/7) basis.
  • Interface with Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation (AFOTEC) and other military personnel, as well as other contractor personnel, to support testing activities such as Development, Test and Evaluation (DT&E), Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E), and Installation, Checkout and Evaluation (ICE) testing.
  • Participate in LRDR exercises and inspections.
  • Provide operational activity support to include development/updates of LRDR and C2BMC Operator Tactics, TTPs and SOPs.
  • Attend and complete all required certification training.
  • Conduct operational reporting on a on 24-hours-a-day, 7-days- a-week (24/7) basis.
  • Provide a daily report of operational activities as specified by HHQ.
  • Perform BMD mission taskings and accomplish support requests.
  • Document operations, security events, equipment status, authorized software changes, weather, shift changes, changing of the Zulu day, and any other significant events in an operations log.
  • Accomplish SDA taskings and support requests from the 18th Space Control Squadron (18 SPCS) and/or the National Space Defense Center. MDROs shall communicate and collaborate with Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC), MDA and other external agency personnel regarding space catalog data, mission status coordination and reporting.
  • Manage training and development activities designed to ensure technical competency of Contractor personnel.


Educational/Training Requirements:



  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associates degree is desired.


Required Skills/Experience:



  • Three (3) years' experience in Space Operations experience, scheduling, reporting, and managing is required.
  • Prior military or Government experience and experience with Air Force Space Command sensor operations, radar or electro-optical sensors, and space surveillance operations are highly desired.
  • Experience in electronics and engineering is desired.


Salary Range:



  • Approximately $100000 - $103000 / year


Certifications:



  • Career Field Education Training Plan for Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) 1C6XX, Space Systems Operations, or AFSC 13S, Space Operations Officer or Government accepted equivalent (Relevant certifications for operating space sensors such as GEODSS, Cobra Dane, ALTAIR, etc.).


Supervision:



  • Reports to the Missile Defense Radar Operator (MDRO) Lead.


Work Environment:



  • The selected individual will work in a computing center environment. This may require working extended hours or weekends. Overnight or weekend travel may also be included.


Physical Demands:



  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Sitting and working at a computer for extended periods.


Clearance Requirements:



  • Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.
  • Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance.
