Description

POSITION: Accountant

DEPARTMENT: "Finance" (Hybrid)

Starting Salary: $65,000 (Annually)

(Starting salary depends on education and experience)

RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will be responsible for assisting in coordination of the annual budget process with program team members, senior agency management, Director of Accounting/Controller, and CFO. Report and provide analysis of activity related to contributions and grants to ensure funds which are designated as temporary restricted have valid documentation for released from restriction. Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis of activity based on reviews of income statement activity resulting in unusual variances to provide assurance that financial statements are stated in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Willing to spend about one-third of their time ensuring grant contract compliance for the grants used by the cost centers they are assigned, which may include financial reporting, invoicing, tracking expenses, or completing reconciliation to ensure that financial obligations are being meet. Provides support for all related audits such as financial, program, and/or funding audits. Provide leadership and support for monthly foster care provider payment process ensuring payments made to foster families are correct. This involves coordinating reviews and reconciliations between state portals, internal Cornerstones of Care software, and accounts payable ledger of payments to ensure the three align and are accurate by coordinating with program and finance team members.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a Bachelor's Degree and 3 to 5 years of accounting experience with non-profit sector. Must be at least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical and drug screening. This position also requires a valid driver's license, proof of current vehicle insurance and reliable transportation.
