Principal Neurodiagnostic Technologist - Nights Neurodiagnostics - EEG Full Time 83230BR Job Summary The Lead Neurodiagnostic Technologist, under minimal direction participates as an integral member of the Neurodiagnostic Services by performing routine and complex EEGs, Video EEG in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Long Term (EEG) monitoring, Evoked Potentials (EPs) and other specialized procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including nursing floors, intensive care units, operating room and other specialized locations. These tests record the electrical activity in the brain and nervous system. The Lead Neurodiagnostic Technologist will ensure electrode and technical integrity and quality of all Neurodiagnostic procedures performed. Accurate results provide the physician with valuable information to diagnose and treat neurological conditions/disorders such as headaches, seizures, strokes, and degenerative brain disease. The Lead Neurodiagnostic Technologist actively participates in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, in-services and staff development activities. The Lead Neurodiagnostic Technologist provides training, guidance and support to other staff to assist with their professional growth and development. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $69.16 - $86.16 (Hourly Rate). EEGT./R. EPT.), CLTM, CNIM Graduate from an accredited Neurodiagnostics program or equivalent training and experience Minimum of four years as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist Competency in complex EEGs and one or more modalities (EP, LTM, EMU, etc.) At least three years in an acute care hospital Knowledge of medical terminology Experience with computerized and diagnostic medical equipment Previous mentoring and teaching experience High school diploma required Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written Strong interpersonal skills with patients, families, and clinical staff Proficient in Word, Excel, and online communication Highly proficient in Neurodiagnostics software applications Strong interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and self-initiation skills Knowledge of electrical safety for Neurodiagnostic equipment Ability to work variable shifts and locations Independent, motivated self-starter Flexibility to work in all UCSF Health locations Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working with an interdisciplinary health provider team Prior experience working in an academic medical center environment Prior experience in neuroscience research environment License/Certification Registered EEG Technologist (R.
