Position Summary:

We currently have an immediate need for a Systems Engineer to support Future Ship Division within PMW 760. The Senior Systems Engineer will support and provide knowledge, design and integration efforts working with product PMW's to ensure a cross PMW understanding of modular cabinet design efforts are maturing. This will include but not limited to

Understanding of technical development of C4I products for modular cabinet design for future platforms.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead and support AIS (Agility In Shipbuilding) initiatives such as Modular Cabinets. Work alongside various product PMWs to understand their modular cabinet system design and provide status to PMW 760.
  • Responsible for facilitating the integration of multi-program/project requirements without compromising the integrity of the deliverable(s).
  • Provide technical expertise in C4I requirements analysis, design, development, integration and installation of C4I products to support and align with modular cabinet efforts that align with Agility in Shipbuilding efforts.
  • Directs and works with engineering team to develop solutions to customer requirements, and facilitates resolutions where conflicts arise
  • Familiar with standard engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Demonstrates reliable experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Work with product PMW's to understand system interface requirements in the technical interchange meetings for modular cabinet designs.
  • Work with the PMW 760 APM-E, product PMW APMEs other warfare centers and Future Ships Program Offices LSEs and SDMs on modular C4I design and integration efforts.
  • Familiar with NIWC SETR, PDR, and CDR processes and have supported such events for system design
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Ship Program Offices and Product Program Offices to help deliver automation and remote technical repair capabilities to the Fleet
  • Support the preparation of engineering strategies, assist the development of program schedules, and ensure the product codes are developing engineering products that support modular cabinet design and timely delivery of required technical artifacts for future ships platforms.


Experience:


  • 5+ years engineering experience working for a DoD organization preferred
  • Proficiency Experience and understanding of NIWC engineering design processes and have participated in Configuration Control Boards for C4ISR Engineering Changes
  • Extensive working knowledge of AEGIS Weapons, TDL systems and/or C4ISR technologies.


Qualifications and Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering or technical field
  • Mandatory 4+ year's working in an engineering capacity designing C4I systems
  • Experience working in an engineering capacity in a DOD, military or government agency environment
  • This position requires an existing U.S. Government DoD granted security clearance/eligibility at the final Secret level. Individual must be able to maintain the necessary security clearance/eligibility for employment. U.S. Citizenship is required.
