We are seeking a detail-oriented Freight Accounts Payable Associate to ensure the timely and accurate processing of all freight-related invoices. This position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to research and resolve discrepancies, and a proactive approach to maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and document freight-related invoices promptly and accurately, ensuring proper allocation to the applicable General Ledger (GL) accounts.
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies by coordinating with carriers, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Dispute incorrect invoices, follow up on pending resolutions, and track progress to completion.
  • Maintain organized records of all invoices, disputes, and payments for auditing and reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with the freight team to reconcile accounts and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Assist in generating periodic reports related to freight expenses and payment status.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in accounts payable, freight, or logistics is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective follow-up and dispute resolution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
