Job Summary:



As neuromuscular director, this leader will prepare the vision and direct future growth and development of neuromuscular program at CHCO. This position will also provide clinical care for patients with general neurological disorders, primarily in the outpatient setting. The position will include clinical service and teaching. Clinical responsibilities include participation in the outpatient general neurology clinic and participation in doctor-of-the-week call service. Outpatient evaluations will occur primarily at Children's Hospital of Colorado network of care locations, outreach sites, and may include hospital follow-up clinics, urgent access clinics. The specific type and location of clinic sessions may vary based on the Section's needs, including participation in quarterly regional satellite clinics.Section's needs, including participation in quarterly regional satellite clinics. Key Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:



  • Prepare the vision and direct future growth and development of neuromuscular program at CHCO.
  • On-going follow-up care both in clinic and by phone, for neurology patients. Participation in the doctor-of-the-week service initiatives.
  • Collaboration of patient care with staff neurologists as appropriate.
  • Teaching clinical care concepts to NPs, PAs, Residents and RNs.
  • Your duties in this faculty position will include teaching, clinical, scholarly and service responsibilities.



Work Location:



Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located CU Briargate Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Associate Professor:



  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Board Eligibility in Neurology with a Special Competence in Child Neurology.
  • 6 or more years of experience as an attending physician and academic qualifications to fulfill requirements of associate professor rank.
  • Experience with program development, teaching or research commensurate with associate professor rank
  • Examples of scholarship commensurate with associate professor rank
  • DEA certificate
  • Ability to obtain Colorado Medical License


Professor:



  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Board Eligibility in Neurology with a Special Competence in Child Neurology
  • DEA certificate
  • Ability to obtain CO medical license
  • 10 or more years of experience as an attending physician and academic qualifications to fulfill requirements of professor rank
  • Experience with program development, teaching or research commensurate with professor rank
  • Examples of scholarship commensurate with professor rank


Condition of Employment:



  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

  • Experience building a pediatric neuromuscular program


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Willing to collaborate with the medical team to provide the highest quality of care to patients and their families.
  • Ability to diagnose and treat patients with neurological diagnoses.
  • Knowledge and desire to specialize in inpatient diagnoses and treatment

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:



  • Associate Professor: $243,341 to $260,582
  • Professor: $282,984 to $317,158


The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
